Peskov explained when Zelensky will become the EU’s “bad boy”
09.03.2026 10:01Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should consider options for making peace with Russia, because the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran may drag on.
This was written on X by Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s “Freedom Alliance” party.
He noted that Zelensky has already expressed concern that support for Ukraine could decline due to U.S. and Israeli military actions against Iran. Now, Mema argues, Kyiv’s leader should enter negotiations with Moscow.
“Since no one knows how long the conflict will last, Zelensky should seriously consider negotiations with Russia. But he won’t do it, because he promised to fight to the last Ukrainian,” he wrote.
In March, Zelensky said Ukraine may face difficulties obtaining missiles and weapons because of the conflict in the Middle East. Bloomberg also wrote that escalation in the Middle East reduces the likelihood that Ukraine will receive U.S. Tomahawk missiles, could revive interest in Russian energy resources, and may divert resources intended for Ukraine’s defense to other tasks.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has also said that the war in the Middle East should not distract Europe from the conflict in Ukraine.
