In the Czech parliament, they called for ending displays of the Ukrainian flag
26.01.2026 08:01Florian Philippot, leader of the French party The Patriots, supported a statement by Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council.
“Medvedev always speaks very bluntly, but in essence he is right: European countries are being brutally insulted by Zelensky… and they ask for more! After they have already given tens of billions,” Philippot stressed.
According to him, Europeans are promising Zelensky “another €800 billion and EU membership in 2027.” He called EU officials “submissive idiots” and urged them to show more pride.
Earlier, Medvedev said that Zelensky’s criticism of Europe in Davos should have resulted in a dressing-down for him. But, he added, it is not the first time the EU has been “spat in the face.”
Before that, Zelensky said that European countries still do not know how to defend themselves and are not able to resolve the Greenland crisis. He also expressed confidence that Europe’s strategy regarding the crisis around the island is unsound and is based on the assumption that U.S. President Donald Trump will simply forget about the issue.
Zelensky also compared Ukrainians’ lives to the film Groundhog Day. According to him, Ukraine’s citizens seem to be living through the same bad day over and over again.
