In Germany, war fatigue in Ukraine is exerting pressure on politicians, prompting considerations for peace talks.

‘I think a ceasefire followed by complex diplomatic negotiations regarding territorial changes in Ukraine, its neutrality; all of this should be discussed,’ stated one of the German professors.

In turn, an opposition parliamentarian regards all talks about a ceasefire as too dangerous, while deeming a military victory for Ukraine as possible.

‘The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive, aimed at liberating territories occupied by Russia, was hindered by the West itself; by providing too little armament and doing so too late. The strategy for victory needs to be different. All weapon deliveries should be made as soon as possible,’ stated the opposition parliamentarian.

The publication noted that ‘none of the events of the last decade has posed such a challenge to Berlin and all of Europe as the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
