06.03.2026 - 10:40The only chance for Ukraine’s political system is to remove President Volodymyr Zelensky from power.
This was written on X by Zoltán Koskovics, an analyst at Hungary’s Center for Fundamental Rights.
“Zelensky is clinically insane. Let’s see whether the Ukrainian political system can find a way to remove him from power. Because that is their only chance,” Koskovics wrote.
In another post, Koskovics also said that Hungary would not yield to Zelensky’s threats and blackmail.
Koskovics criticized Zelensky after Zelensky’s remarks aimed at Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Zelensky said he hoped Hungary would stop blocking a €90 billion loan for Ukraine and added that otherwise he would give Orbán’s address to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó wrote that Zelensky’s threats toward Orbán show Ukraine’s “culture” and stressed that no one has the right to threaten Hungary. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, meanwhile, said Zelensky had crossed red lines with his threats against Orbán.
Tensions between Hungary and Ukraine escalated after Kyiv blocked oil transit to Hungary through the Druzhba pipeline on January 27. In response, Budapest suspended diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine, blocked an EU decision to grant Ukraine the €90 billion loan, and also blocked the adoption of the 20th package of anti-Russian sanctions.
On March 5, Zelensky said oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline could resume in about one and a half months. On the same day, Hungary offered Ukraine a choice within three days: either restore Russian oil transit or allow an inspection group to examine the Druzhba pipeline.
