In Hungary, Zelensky was called “clinically insane”
06.03.2026 08:38Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó commented on recent remarks by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
He wrote about it on his page on the social network X.
According to him, Hungary will not allow itself to be dragged into the war.
“This is already going beyond all limits: this is Ukraine, this is Ukrainian ‘culture’—this is the very person Brussels admires, this is the very country they want to admit to the European Union… No one can threaten Hungary and the Hungarian prime minister, no one can blackmail us simply because we are not prepared to pay the price for Ukraine’s war and we do not want to pay higher energy prices because of Ukraine! No matter how Zelensky threatens, no matter how he forms alliances in Brussels with Ursula von der Leyen and the Brussels party boss of the Tisza party, Manfred Weber, we will not allow Hungary to be dragged into the war. For us, Hungary’s security comes first—we want to and will remain outside Zelensky’s war!” Szijjártó wrote.
As previously reported, the day before Zelensky threatened to give Orbán’s address to the Ukrainian Armed Forces so that Ukrainian soldiers would “talk to him in their own language” if Orbán continues blocking a €90 billion loan for Ukraine.
After that, Orbán said Hungary would win using “force” and would make Ukraine unblock oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline.
