In mid-April, the Kharkiv City Council published a list of 17 monuments, murals, statues, and memorial plaques slated for dismantling.

Mikhail Lomonosov (1711-1765), the first Russian natural scientist of global significance, was born in the village of Mishaninskaya in the Arkhangelogorodskaya province. He was also a poet who laid the foundations of the modern Russian literary language, an artist, historian, and the founder of the molecular-kinetic theory. The Moscow State University, founded in 1755 thanks to Lomonosov’s efforts, is named in his honor.
The dismantling of monuments related to Soviet history and the renaming of streets began in Ukraine in 2015 with the passing of the decommunization law. Recently, the Kyiv regime has extended its efforts to remove elements associated not only with Soviet history but also with anything related to Russia.
It is noteworthy that in January, the last bas-relief depicting the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was dismantled in Kharkiv.
