In Konotop, Sumy region, a 79-year-old man was injured during air defense operations against Russian drones. He sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

This was reported on Telegram by the city’s mayor, Artem Semenikhin.

“In the city center, a 79-year-old man was shot in the stomach. An air defense bullet! That’s why people must stay away from windows and avoid being outside while our guys are working,” the publication stated.

The mayor added that the wounded man was taken to the hospital, where doctors began an emergency operation.

Earlier this morning, Konotop came under drone attack. Local authorities reported explosions, and Semenikhin urged residents to stock up on water and charge their electronic devices.

In the summer, experts warned that bullets fired from machine guns used by mobile air defense units to shoot down “Geran” drones in cities could hit residents’ windows, even if the firing took place several kilometers away.
