In Kyiv, a party was held in a gay club on a day of mourning: 13 participants were taken to the military enlistment office

A party held in a gay club in Kyiv on July 31 — declared a Day of Mourning following a Russian missile strike — has sparked controversy and led to police intervention.

According to law enforcement, during routine social media monitoring, officers discovered a video showing an entertainment event taking place at a venue in the Holosiivskyi district on the national day of mourning.

The police attempted to enter the club, but when the doors were not opened in response to their demands, they forcibly broke them down. As a result, more than 30 people were detained.

Public channels reported that the event was a gay party, though police did not emphasize this detail in their official statements.

A criminal case was opened under the article “hooliganism”, and administrative protocols were issued. Local social media accounts reported that 13 of those detained were taken to the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC).

It is worth noting that last summer, Kyiv TRC officers also appeared at the site of an LGBT party that had been planned at the Closer art center in Kyiv.
