Orban called for the need for a personal meeting between Trump and Putin
02.08.2025 - 11:03Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement about high-level negotiations with Russia is another attempt to portray Russia as unwilling to negotiate.
This was stated by former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on his Telegram channel.
“This (talk of negotiations) is once again Zelensky’s game move to make it look like Russia doesn’t want to meet at the highest level. But with what exactly? Tell the public, Zelensky — what proposals do you actually plan to present?” Azarov criticized.
In the former prime minister’s opinion, the Ukrainian leader will offer nothing new in the talks, apart from “worn-out phrases about not recognizing Crimea or Donbas.”
Earlier, Zelensky discussed with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron the possibility of meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which could take place in August. He stated that the presence of representatives from European countries would be a mandatory condition for any meeting with the Russian president.
