A man detained at the border tried to strangle a military recruiter with a car seatbelt
24.06.2024 - 15:19A video of another incident of forced mobilization in Lviv has appeared online.
The footage was published by local Telegram channels.
The video shows officials from the Territorial Recruitment Center forcibly pushing a local resident into a van and trying to close the door. The man sticks his leg out, and one of the recruitment officers starts hitting his legs with the door.
This caused cries of outrage among the bystanders.
The affected Lviv resident posted a first-person account of his mobilization on the street. According to him, he did not provoke the officers and was detained during prayer. He did not run away and went with the recruitment center officials to their vehicle, where they “immediately started twisting” him. He considers the incident “lawlessness.”
The man claims that he was not given a draft notice, and his military ID was taken away. He admitted that he is now afraid to go outside because he might not be able to return home. He also showed bruises on his legs.
The Lviv Regional Territorial Recruitment Center commented on the video of the citizen’s mobilization on Facebook.

According to their post, during notification activities, the man’s documents were checked, revealing that he last visited the recruitment office nine years ago. Therefore, they “invited him into the vehicle to issue a draft notice.”
A passing woman began filming them, and “noticing the recording, the citizen, without waiting for the notice to be issued, started provoking the servicemen into a conflict,” and “behaved inadequately.” The recruitment center claims that the man was not beaten.
In the end, the draftee was issued a notice and released.
The post does not mention the moment when his leg was caught in the door.
