In Mukachevo, recruitment officers detained and beat the co-owner of a bookstore chain and used violence against his wife

Employees of the Territorial Recruitment Center detained and beat the co-owner of the “Knyzhnyi Lev” bookstores in Kyiv and Lviv, Oleksandr Ryabchuk.

According to the post, border guards detained Ryabchuk for a document check at the train station in Mukachevo. He was then handed over to the local Territorial Recruitment Center, where he successfully passed a medical examination, despite having health issues, and not all required doctors were present on the military medical commission.

“After attempting to appeal the decision of the military medical commission and demanding that a summons be issued properly, employees of the Mukachevo Territorial Recruitment Center used physical force against Sasha and his wife, who was with him. Sasha was again taken to the Territorial Recruitment Center,” Ivanova wrote.

Oleksandr’s wife called the police and filed a complaint against the Territorial Recruitment Center. In response, the military officials, under threat of force, demanded that Ryabchuk record a video stating that he had no complaints against them and withdraw the complaint, which he did.

Ryabchuk remains in custody.

It is not specified whether he has a deferral from military service.
