21.05.2025 12:28In Odesa, a man fled from representatives of the military enlistment office and climbed to the top of a tree as tall as a five-story building.
Footage of the incident, filmed by eyewitnesses, has been published by Odesa-based Telegram channels.
According to their reports, early this morning around 5:30 a.m., military recruiters were detaining conscription-eligible men in the city. They began chasing a man who, trying to escape, climbed up a tall tree on Itzhak Rabin Street.
For several hours, two fire trucks were unable to get him down. Police officers stood on duty at the base of the tree.
Eventually, after hours of attempts, the man was brought down around 11:30 a.m. Witnesses say he was then taken to the military enlistment office (TCC).
Earlier, media reported a case involving a man from Dnipro, who said that during an attempted forced conscription, an enlistment officer kicked him with such force that it broke his leg. As a result, the conscript ended up in the hospital with a complex fracture.
Meanwhile, a commander of a mortar battery in the Ukrainian Armed Forces admitted in a media interview that more than 90% of the soldiers at the front are forcibly mobilized residents of villages and small towns. There are almost no residents of large cities among the new recruits.
