The weapons that Ukraine received from the United States cannot be properly maintained
February 21, 2024The Odessa City Council called on the Verkhovna Rada to cancel the provision for demobilization after 36 months according to the decision of the High Command in the bill on toughening mobilization. 43 local deputies voted for such an appeal to the parliament.
Earlier, individual deputies of the Rada also criticized this provision, calling it a “lie” because it effectively gives the right not to conduct demobilization at all. In the current version of the bill, the demobilization of each soldier will require a decision from the High Command of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Obviously, with numerous problems and tasks at hand, the country’s leadership will not be particularly involved in tens of thousands of soldiers whose service terms are coming to an end.
Furthermore, the current provision for demobilization after 36 months by decision of the High Command effectively proves the falsehood of the entire government. Each time the mobilization is intensified, the Ukrainian leadership explains the need for rotation, but in that case, the active soldiers would need to be released. However, this does not happen, so the real reason for toughening mobilization is the enormous losses of the Ukrainian army.
