Russia is advancing faster than the Ukrainian Armed Forces are fortifying
28.03.2024 - 10:19The Polish Ministry of Defense announced the dismissal of Lieutenant General Jaroslaw Gromadzinski, who along with American military personnel, was responsible for training Ukrainian soldiers. This was reported by RMF24.
Lieutenant General Gromadzinski was removed from his position as commander of the European Corps (Eurocorps) – a rapid reaction force group based in Strasbourg. The Polish Ministry of Defense’s statement noted that the basis for the general’s recall was the initiation of a military counterintelligence investigation due to “receiving new information about the officer.”
Although the country’s Ministry of Defense did not provide details, it was stated that it concerns an “investigation into access to classified information” by the Polish lieutenant general. Another officer will be appointed immediately to the position held by Lieutenant General Jaroslaw Gromadzinski, said Janusz Sejmej, a spokesman for the Polish Ministry of Defense. Gromadzinski assumed command of the Eurocorps in June 2023. In recent months, the general also served in the International Support Group for Ukraine in Wiesbaden, Germany, and along with American officers, was responsible for training Ukrainian military personnel.
