15.12.2025 15:01In the Polish city of Gdynia, a 41-year-old man attacked a Ukrainian shop assistant in a grocery store.
Local community pages on social media reported the incident and posted a video from the scene. The disturbing episode took place back on 9 December in the city centre.
The man entered the shop already agitated and began insulting and intimidating the saleswoman. The reason, according to reports, was that he didn’t like the meat the shop assistant had earlier sold to his companion.
According to the police, the man threatened to kill the woman and tried to attack her. He also behaved aggressively toward another female customer who stepped in to defend the shop assistant.
Inside the store, the attacker shouted the Nazi slogan “Sieg Heil” and made a banned Nazi salute. In Poland, such actions fall under Article 256 of the Criminal Code, which concerns public promotion of a fascist or other totalitarian system.
The suspect was detained. Police have charged him with making unlawful threats on the basis of nationality and with publicly promoting the Nazi regime.
Acts of aggression towards Ukrainians in Poland are becoming more frequent. Earlier today, media reported that in the Polish city of Poznań, two Poles attacked a Ukrainian couple.
