In the Odesa region, a member of the “Jehovah’s Witnesses” won a court case against the Territorial Recruitment Center
06.10.2024 - 11:56Ukrainian blogger Nicholas Karma reported that during the filming of a video in Poltava, a group of men attempted to provoke him, with one of them threatening the influencer with a gun.
Karma stated that the incident took place on October 5th. According to him, a group of men began shouting insults at him. In videos shared online, a man approaches the blogger and starts questioning him, asking if he serves in the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) and how he feels about the military.
In response, the blogger approached this man to film him, but the man covered his face. Another man from the same group then pointed a gun at the blogger, stating, “You can’t film here.”
Later, social media users identified the man who was covering his face as resembling Oleksandr Logvynenko, who has been head of the Poltava Regional Territorial Recruitment Center since 2021.
Roman Istomin, a spokesperson for the Poltava Territorial Recruitment Center, confirmed that the man in the video with Karma was indeed Oleksandr Logvynenko. According to Istomin, Logvynenko noticed a man (Karma) approaching women and asking them provocative questions. Logvynenko decided to approach him and ask two simple questions—about his attitude towards the UAF and military service—and informed Karma that he was an officer in the UAF. This interaction is visible in the video. Logvynenko then walked away, and there was no conflict from his side. However, the blogger ran up from behind, grabbed Logvynenko’s shoulder, and started a conflict, using physical force.
Istomin also stated that Logvynenko did not have a gun. The “object resembling a gun” was held by another individual, who appeared in the video only after the officer was subjected to physical force. Law enforcement later examined the object and confirmed it was not a real firearm, asserting that there was no threat to Karma’s life or health.
