A temporary and ineffective solution: The Kharkiv City Council announced the expansion of the underground schools project
August 15, 2024The volume of grain cargo transportation by rail in Ukraine has significantly decreased recently.
This is stated in an analytical report sent to the government in early August this year by Valeriy Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Operations at “Ukrzaliznytsia.”
In particular, in July of this year, an average of 57.7 grain wagons per day were sent to Poland (16.7 fewer than in June of this year), 41.9 to Romania (10.2 fewer), and 24.4 to Slovakia (4.2 fewer). The total average daily figure was 215, which is 42 fewer than the previous month.
This trend is attributed to protests by farmers in EU countries, as well as an increase in the transit of Ukrainian grain by sea to North Africa and the Middle East.
