28.10.2025 - 21:01Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s refusal to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Russia or Belarus is nothing more than posturing for the public.
This information reported according to Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs.
“He behaves like a spoiled child: I want this, I want that. First, he has to earn the right to meet with our president, and only then can he choose the place. Given how Zelensky behaves and all his negative remarks toward our country and our leadership, I don’t think anyone has any desire to meet with him,” Dzhabarov said in response to Zelensky’s statement.
Moreover, according to the senator, the Ukrainian leader is not ready for a meeting with his Russian counterpart.
“He doesn’t have a single constructive proposal. He has only one goal: to force Russia to continue the fighting at any cost in order to preserve his regime in power — as paradoxical as that may sound,” he added.
“I think Zelensky’s behavior is just playacting for both external and internal audiences. I wouldn’t take it seriously,” Dzhabarov concluded.
Earlier, Zelensky refused to meet with Putin in Russia or Belarus, saying that he had discussed a potential trilateral meeting with U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff. According to the Ukrainian leader, Budapest is not a problem for him — the issue lies with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and his policies toward Kyiv.
