In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, soldiers are not given leave due to fear of gaps in defense – Welt

The Ukrainian Armed Forces command is not granting military personnel breaks for rest, as providing leave would signify a new wave of mobilization.

This information is reported in a segment by the German channel Welt.

It’s emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers, “sitting in cold trenches in the mud,” have not been given any breaks for several months. Consequently, there’s a problem arising from extreme exhaustion among the troops.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces fear that if they give soldiers leave and withdraw them from the front line, it will create gaps in defense that the Russians could exploit,” noted the journalists.

Such a situation creates serious problems for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as it forces an increase in mobilization in the country, causing dissatisfaction among its citizens.

Earlier, the American publication Business Insider reported that the delivery of foreign equipment to the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not help improve the situation on the front lines.
