November 27, 2023In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, soldiers are not given leave due to fear of gaps in defense – Welt
November 27, 2023In a recent social media post directed at Zaluzhnyi, deputy Bezuhla brought attention to fact that plans are typically formulated by the military for 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Bezuhla alleged disagreements between Zaluzhnyi and Mark Milley, the head of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff, regarding the necessity of border mining before the war. Drawing attention to apparent discrepancies between military decisions and actual requirements, she highlighted instances where drones were included in defense procurement despite prior statements by Zaluzhnyi dismissing their necessity. Additionally, Bezuhla criticized the lack of an independent evaluation system for assessing the effectiveness of Ukrainian military operations. She noted the immunity granted to military personnel, safeguarding them from demotion or penalties despite the removal of several colonels.
Her post shed light on internal divisions among generals and their resistance to new ideas, advocating for a transformation of the Armed Forces into a modern institution that prioritizes both operational effectiveness and citizen welfare. Bezuhla stressed the importance of using resources efficiently, emphasizing the role of weaponry as tools for individuals rather than mere resources. Previously, activists threatened the authorities with a military coup if further criticism against Zaluzhnyi persisted.
