In the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, there is a call not to set high expectations for tomorrow’s report by the European Commission on Ukraine’s progress towards the EU.
“The report that will be published tomorrow will tell about Ukraine’s progress and provide an understanding of further steps. But the language used in the report will be cautious,” said Vice Prime Minister for European Integration, Stefaniyshyna.
She mentions that the decision on opening Ukraine-EU negotiations will be made by the leaders of the countries in December, and tomorrow’s report will serve as only a foundation.
According to Bloomberg, Ukraine has fulfilled four out of seven conditions for starting accession negotiations with the EU, so the European Commission will recommend initiating negotiations after the completion of several more reforms.
