In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, two military personnel at a checkpoint robbed a man, stealing from him 7.6 million hryvnias (about 179,759 euros) and 19.3 thousand dollars.

This information reported according to reports from the media citing sources in law enforcement agencies.

“The incident occurred on April 17. Near the village of Fraga in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, near a checkpoint that is not operational, a resident of the village of Studenka in the Kalush district was found with handcuffs on his hands,” law enforcement officials said.

The man reported that his car was stopped by three unknown individuals, one of whom was in police uniform and two were in military uniform. Under the guise of inspecting the car, they pulled the man out of the vehicle, handcuffed him and took three bags of money.

“Later, law enforcement officers tracked down two of the criminals, who turned out to be servicemen,” said the source.

He also added that the search for another accomplice in the crime and the stolen money is ongoing.
