In the Netherlands, a proposal has been made to send Ukrainian refugees back home

Members of the Dutch right-wing party, BoerBurgerBeweging (Farmers’ Citizen Movement or BBB), are suggesting relocating Ukrainian refugees to the western part of Ukraine, claiming it is also “calm and safe” there.

The proposal comes amid decreasing Western aid volumes and concerns about the capacity to host all refugees. Mona Keijzer, a BBB member, expressed the view that Western Ukraine appears relatively stable, raising the question of whether Ukrainians can find safe accommodation there.

She also questioned the government’s stance if Kyiv requests the return of Ukrainian men potentially subject to military conscription, speculating that some may have sought refuge abroad, possibly even in the Netherlands.
