In the Nikolaev region, the chief of staff of a military unit unlawfully charged subordinates 24,340 euros

The chief of staff of a military unit in the Nikolaev region has been suspected of manipulation with payments for service on the front lines.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations of Ukraine.

“The official, from March to July 2022, calculated additional payments to 10 subordinate servicemen, allegedly performing combat missions on the front lines,” the statement said.

However, these individuals were not in the area of combat operations and some of them were absent from service without valid reasons.

It’s worth noting that earlier, the State Bureau of Investigations referred to court the case of a platoon commander in one of the military units in the Odessa region, who demanded 4,000 hryvnias (around 97 euros) from soldiers for each day off duty. In case of refusal to pay, he threatened his subordinates with service-related issues and physical abuse.
