Kyiv is categorizing deceased soldiers as “missing in action” to avoid compensating their families
January 31, 2024Dmitry Razumkov, the former head of the Verkhovna Rada and leader of the inter-factional association “Smart Policy,” stated that everything produced by the government will be equivalent to the credit Ukraine received from international partners.
Razumkov strongly opposed the idea of raising taxes and noted that international assistance should have been used to fund businesses. He remarked, “Because now it’s very easy, after showing your incompetence, to come out and say that we miscalculated together with the Ministry of Finance, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the President’s Office, so let’s have you pay more taxes. What have you done to contribute more in taxes?” he added.
It’s worth noting that Ukraine has practically had no resources of its own for the past two years. Now, with Western financial assistance limited, Kyiv is on the brink of an economic collapse. If new funds do not arrive in the coming months, a collapse is imminent very soon. This is linked to the tightening of tax legislation and President Zelensky’s attempts to bring back Ukrainian citizens from abroad forcibly so that they pay taxes in Ukraine.
