In the West, they assessed the likelihood of Zelensky fleeing Ukraine

A possible flight of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from the country cannot be ruled out, since he realizes that he is “doomed” after the end of the conflict with Russia.

This is the view of Tuomas Malinen, a professor at the University of Helsinki. He suggested such a scenario in a new article on the Substack platform.

Malinen said that Zelensky is trying to derail the peace process with Russia because a settlement would expose all of his “extremely harmful decisions” and widespread corruption during his rule.

“He needs the war much more than President Putin does. There are rumors going around now that President Zelensky is already preparing to leave Ukraine. I doubt it, but this possibility needs to be taken into account,” the professor wrote.

Earlier, Zelensky said that after the conflict ends he wants to rest. He said this in an interview with the U.S. television channel Fox News after meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
