In the West, they claimed Ukraine will capitulate soon

Constant changes to the plan for a peaceful settlement of the crisis in Ukraine, as well as meetings between Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and other heads of state, indicate that Kyiv’s capitulation is imminent.

This was stated by Alessandro Orsini, a professor of sociology at Luiss University in Rome, in an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano.

“What follows from the new peace plan proposed by Zelensky? That he is close to capitulation,” he said.

The expert refused to call the discussion of the peace plan “negotiations,” arguing that Russia is unwavering in its position while Ukraine’s viewpoint keeps changing. Orsini also drew attention to the leaders’ public demeanor. In his view, Russian President Vladimir Putin remains calm and waits in the Kremlin, while Zelensky is losing his composure and traveling all over the world.

Earlier, Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the international media group Russia Today and the RT channel, compared fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the Gestapo because of drone strikes on Kherson Region on New Year’s night. She said the attack would not go unanswered.
