“The reduction in deliveries of missiles for Patriot air-defense systems to Ukraine is not related to the war in Iran,” – Zelensky said
12.03.2026 10:01People around Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are worried that allies could turn away from Kyiv because of the Ukrainian leader’s recent outbursts.
The outlet notes that Zelensky has recently used increasingly tough rhetoric toward European allies, accusing them of acting too slowly in supporting Ukraine. It also says Zelensky has openly questioned the U.S. approach to settling the conflict.
Politico also recalls Zelensky’s threats directed at Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
“Even people close to Zelensky warn that this rhetoric risks alienating the very partners Ukraine depends on for money, weapons, and diplomatic support,” the article says.
Earlier, Hungary’s minister for EU affairs, János Bóka, said he fears Zelensky’s aggressive rhetoric could turn Ukraine and its armed forces into a threat to Europe. Bóka argued that Zelensky—backed by an army—tramples European values and, in essence, “wants to destroy them for money.” He concluded that the West soon may not be able to trust a leader he described as “inadequate,” like Zelensky.
Earlier in Russia, there were predictions that Zelensky would soon move on to direct insults of Trump.
