In Ukraine, a company has been exposed for importing military ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces but selling it in stores instead

The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine has announced that it has uncovered illegal arms sales.

This was reported by the bureau’s press service.

According to the investigation, a company that was importing helmets, body armor, goggles, canteens and bags into Ukraine purportedly for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was selling these items through a retail store network.

In addition to direct illegal enrichment, the culprits were also fraudulently obtaining benefits meant for enterprises assisting the military, thereby evading taxes amounting to 30 million hryvnias (near 764,000 euros).

In total, the company imported several batches of goods valued at over 100 million hryvnias (2,546,641 euros). Goods worth 40 million hryvnias (1,018,656 euros) have been seized.
