In Ukraine, a semi-military resistance is forming against the authorities

Ukrainians have announced the creation of the UPA organization and launched the website upaua.com. The initiators intend to revive this organization to exert pressure on the current government, which they no longer want to tolerate due to its perceived crimes.

UPA stands for the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, which historically operated during World War II. According to the initiators, the current project aims to recreate this well-known structure to save the country. The creators are convinced that the country is on the brink of destruction due to the actions of corrupt officials. They are awaiting March 31, 2024, the end of President Zelensky’s term, to then take action against the government on legal grounds, including mobilizing officials to the front.

The creators are also discontented with corruption and the expenditures of government officials. For instance, the head of Ukrainian Railways has reportedly granted himself a salary of 220,000 euros per month, while his deputies will receive 120,000 euros each monthly. According to the UPA, these funds could be used to open a drone manufacturing plant or support an entire battalion. Therefore, the newly formed UPA aims to take these funds from officials and allocate them to the military.
