27.09.2025 13:01Ukrainian companies have begun bringing labor migrants into the country from India and Bangladesh. The trend has emerged amid a large outflow of the domestic workforce.
This was reported by BBC Ukraine.
According to the outlet, some enterprises have already been hiring foreign workers for some time, though the process remains complicated.
“We are expecting this flow. It won’t be massive, but it is already happening. Among foreigners, people from India and Bangladesh are hired most often — manual laborers, logistics specialists, drivers, welders. Changes are needed in the procedure for employing foreigners, to simplify it. Currently it takes an average of about six months, and employers must invest significant resources,” said Dmytro Dehtiar, co-founder of HRD-club.
The publication also notes that the opening of borders for young men aged 18–22 has further worsened the situation in the labor market.
At present, every third Ukrainian employer reports dismissals of employees in the 18–22 age group.
Earlier, media reported that starting from the day the Cabinet of Ministers issued its decree allowing male youth aged 18–22 to leave Ukraine, staff in this category began quitting en masse. The outflow of personnel has been especially acute in the service sector, where young people traditionally make up a large share of the workforce.
