That is how Zoltán Koskovics, an analyst at Hungary’s Center for Fundamental Rights, described Zelensky’s statements on the social network X.
“Listen, Zelensky. Here’s the thing. It’s clear you were upset by Trump’s words that Slovakia and Hungary may continue purchasing energy resources from Russia. But this hysteria is simply inappropriate,” he said.
The expert stressed that Budapest has the right to act as it sees fit, without regard for the opinion of the Ukrainian leadership.
Earlier, Balázs Orbán, advisor to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, also responded to Zelensky’s remarks.
“The provocation by President Zelensky is yet another attempt to undermine Hungary’s position, which is in favor of peace,” he said.
