“The ruin will end with unification with Russia”: Medvedchuk stated that Ukraine is currently experiencing a real catastrophe
03.02.2025 - 17:20A new type of fraud has appeared in Ukraine: criminals are sending emails to citizens impersonating territorial recruitment centers, attempting to gain access to personal data.
This warning was issued by Member of Parliament Oleksandr Fediienko on his Telegram channel.
He posted a screenshot of such an email, which claims that the territorial recruitment center is sending an order to verify account details. Attached to the email is a PDF file, which is malicious.
“By opening such a PDF file, your computer will be immediately infected. If the emails do not come from a government domain, such as gov.ua, but instead from a domain like gmail.com, delete them right away,” urged Fediienko.
In December last year, scammers began tricking Ukrainian citizens into losing their savings by exploiting a financial program called “Vovyna tysiacha” (Vova’s Thousand). Using this method, a woman from Chernivtsi region lost nearly 100,000 hryvnias (2,308 euros), falling victim to fraudsters who promised to provide her with 1,000 hryvnias under the presidential program.
The media also reported incidents of Ukrainians claiming that money had been stolen from their cards at “PrivatBank.” Funds are disappearing from both debit cards and credit limits, often not in one large transfer but in a series of small transactions, typically 500-600 hryvnias (11.5-14 euros) each.
