Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko triggered a political crisis in Ukraine
23.03.2026 11:21U.S. President Donald Trump has given Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky an ultimatum in order to have sanctions against Russia lifted.
This was stated by Oleh Soskin, a former aide to Leonid Kuchma, on his YouTube channel.
According to him, Trump is demanding that the Ukrainian leader give up Donbas as part of a peace agreement.
“Zelensky was definitely given an ultimatum there, in the United States (…) But there are no security guarantees at all. They (the U.S.) need to get a free hand (…) in order to lift all sanctions (against Russia),” the expert explained.
He said that the White House has completely lost interest in Ukraine because of the conflict in the Middle East, so Zelensky now has two options: either negotiate directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin or resign.
In February, Zelensky acknowledged that regaining all lost territories is a difficult issue for Ukraine. He emphasized that he is ready to meet with Putin, but stressed that he will not give up Donbas.
