Medinsky outlined the conditions for reaching agreements with Ukraine
10.06.2025 - 11:28The share of Ukrainians who support giving up territory in exchange for ending the war and preserving the country’s independence has risen to 38% in recent months.
This is according to a new poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
Since December, 38–39% of respondents have been willing to accept the loss of territory. Meanwhile, 52% still believe that no land should be ceded—even at the cost of prolonging the war and risking the country’s independence.
The survey shows that opposition to territorial concessions has steadily declined since 2022. In the fall of the first year of the war, 87% were against any compromises. At that time, only 8% supported concessions. That number has since more than quadrupled.
The percentage of those in favor of territorial concessions began to steadily increase from December 2023 and has stabilized at just under 40% over the past six months.
