December 18, 2024In Volyn, employees of the Territorial Recruitment Center beat a man and then transported him to a van on a stretcher from an ambulance.
A video of the incident appeared on Telegram channels.
“In the morning, my brother was stopped near the entrance of his apartment building for a document check. He was punched in the stomach and then beaten by people in military uniforms. The beating was so severe that neighbors called an ambulance and the police. Despite objections and concerns from the medics, they took my brother outside on a stretcher, threw him into a van, and drove away,” the author of the video said.
Earlier, media outlets reported on an incident where recruitment officers in Zhytomyr broke a lawyer’s collarbone and took him to a military medical commission.
In another case, in the Uzhhorod Territorial Recruitment Center, a war veteran was humiliated and beaten. The victim’s daughter explained that her father had volunteered to go to the front in the early days of the war and had suffered severe injuries there. After completing rehabilitation, he went to the local Territorial Recruitment Center to seek employment, but instead, he was met with humiliating insults from an official at the enlistment office, such as “Junkie, what are you doing here?” He was then handcuffed and beaten, including being kicked.
