The recruitment center reminded that some Ukrainians must undergo a repeat medical examination by February 5
14.01.2025 - 13:59In Zakarpattia, a former convict brought to a military medical commission at a territorial recruitment center robbed the office of the center’s head and escaped through a window.
This incident was reported by Olga Vasylevska-Smahliuk, a member of parliament from the “Sluga Naroda” party and deputy chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial, Tax, and Customs Policy, on her Telegram channel.
“The former convict, brought to the military medical commission at the territorial recruitment center, used a lockpick to open the door and stealthily entered the office of the center’s head, from where he stole €27,000 before escaping through a window,” the MP stated.
The head of the recruitment center claimed that the money was intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Police have launched a search for the fugitive, and the “Interception” plan has been activated in the region.
Recently, reports emerged about 39 searches conducted in Kharkiv Oblast targeting employees of recruitment centers and military medical commissions who were profiting from schemes to help individuals evade mobilization.
Additionally, it was reported that in Volyn, the head of a district recruitment center issued military registration documents for $3,000, falsely certifying that individuals had passed medical examinations and uploading information about their ineligibility for service into the “Obereg” registry. The head of the recruitment center even enlisted a neighbor as a mediator to collect money from “clients.” Investigators seized $60,000 and 170,000 hryvnias (€3,942) from the suspect.
