In Zakarpattia, a ninth-grade student pulled out a pistol during class and fired twice, wounding a classmate.

This was reported by the press service of the National Police on its Telegram channel.

According to law enforcement, the incident took place at an educational institution in the Uzhhorod district.

“Today at 9:30 a.m., a report was received on the 102 emergency line stating that a ninth-grade student had threatened participants in the educational process. During the lesson, the minor suddenly pulled out a pistol and fired two shots, wounding one of his classmates with one of them. After that, the boy fled in an unknown direction. Patrol police officers detained him,” the police said.

Doctors examined the injured student, and his life and health are not in danger.

Police seized the pistol, which was preliminarily identified as a traumatic weapon.

Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, including how the weapon ended up in the hands of the minor. The issue of legal qualification is being decided.
