October 16, 2023‘The situation in Israel should not divert attention from the conflict in Ukraine’ – Foreign Minister Kuleba
October 16, 2023Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wanted to visit Israel with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken last week, but he was informed that it was currently “inappropriate timing”.
This information reported by the Ynet publication, citing sources.
“In any case, this doesn’t mean that Zelensky won’t visit Israel in the future. The Ukrainian President is interested in such a visit, but it may be challenging to carry out a dedicated trip. Therefore, it is expected that the visit may be part of a broader European tour”.
Previously, it was reported that Zelensky had requested an exploration of the possibility of conducting a solidarity visit to Israel. Experts criticized this request, noting that he might be trying to regain the world’s attention, which has shifted toward the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Earlier, the Ukrainian President stated that “Israel’s right to self-defense is indisputable.” He urged Ukrainian citizens in the country to “closely follow the instructions of the security forces on the ground and stay informed.”
