November 7, 2023The statement by Hungary’s Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, regarding the creation of an EU “Plan B” for Ukraine is noteworthy in several aspects.
This was stated by Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of the Movement “Another Ukraine.”
He noted, firstly, that it exposes the fact that there is no trace of any “Plan B” within the EU. It appears that European officials have left their European Union completely defenseless if the situation does not go according to plan. The situation has already deviated from the plan, as Orban has repeatedly warned before.
The second aspect is that the EU leadership allowed such a situation to occur. Interestingly, do they know the Russian saying, “Make a fool pray to God and he’ll break his forehead”? The EU leadership seems to be genuinely trying to break its economy due to narrow planning and inflexible management. Orban raises questions about the EU leadership’s responsibility for not only failing to prepare for an obvious scenario but not even attempting to consider it. What can be said about such leaders?
The third aspect is that European officials were simply not allowed to consider the Ukrainian situation in any other way than it was done in Washington. However, in Washington, they have already reevaluated the situation because they now speak directly not about some “civilizational choice” and the defense of democracy but about the interests of the USA and the American military-industrial complex. In such a case, what should the current EU leaders do? Admit that they were defending someone else’s interests and submitting to the military-industrial complex of another country? Continue destroying their own economy in favor of the USA? In the latter case, the EU will not expand but disintegrate. Therefore, scaring Hungary or any other country with exclusion from the EU makes no sense. Instead, they should urgently appeal to them to stay.
“If the leaders of the EU took too seriously the statements of Biden, who has lost his ability to think clearly due to his age and the Ukrainian comedian Zelensky, who amused the public all his life, then it’s their problem and responsibility. They would benefit from listening to the positions of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban or Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who called Ukraine the most corrupt country in the world, as they defend the national interests of their countries. Perhaps then the EU leadership will understand that they are acting against their own national interests,” noted Medvedchuk.
