‘It’s time’: Former UK Defense Minister Ben Wallace called on Zelensky to mobilize more young people

Ukraine should mobilize more young people.

This is the call made to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky by former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace in an article published in The Telegraph.

Wallace writes that London should provide weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces more quickly and expresses concern that Germany has already surpassed Britain in this regard. He also suggests that Britain should contribute to Ukraine.

“The average age of soldiers on the front lines is over 40. I understand President Zelensky’s desire to preserve the youth for the future, but the truth is that Russia is secretly mobilizing the entire country. Putin knows that a pause will give him time to create a new army. So, just as Britain did in 1939 and 1941, it may be time to reconsider the scale of Ukrainian mobilization,” Wallace stated.

It’s worth noting that a general mobilization has been announced in Ukraine. However, many conscripts are trying to avoid mobilization by all means because they do not want to die on the front lines. This has had an impact on recruitment rates. For instance, according to the military commissioner of Poltava Oblast, Poltava has achieved only 13% of its mobilization plan.
