31.03.2024 19:28Statements by the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, claiming that the number of positions regained by Ukraine recently exceeds the number lost, do not correspond to reality.
This was stated by the chief editor of the “Censor” website, Yuriy Butusov.
“The statement that the number of positions regained by us exceeds the number lost does not reflect reality. The statement that the enemy has not significantly advanced on strategic fronts, unfortunately, also does not reflect reality. According to all available data, the adversary is advancing and has captured significant territories,” Butusov said.
He considers such statements by Syrsky to be a mistake.
“I hope he critically evaluates his interview, and future statements will correspond to the situation,” Butusov said.
The journalist commented on a recent interview by Syrsky to the “Ukrinform” news agency, in which the Chief Commander said that “the number of positions regained by the Armed Forces of Ukraine exceeds the number lost. The enemy has not managed to significantly advance on strategic fronts, and its territorial gains, if any, are of tactical significance.”
It is worth noting that the tone of the interview by the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, sharply contrasts with the statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine may not be able to repel the upcoming offensive by the Russian army. This also contrasts with numerous publications in Western media with forecasts that Russian troops will once again be positioned near Kiev in the summer.
