September 5, 2024Kazakhstan recommends that its citizens leave Ukraine due to the escalating tensions or, at the very least, not ignore air raid sirens.
This warning was posted on the website of the Kazakh embassy.
“Due to increasing tensions and for safety reasons, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ukraine recommends that Kazakh citizens consider the possibility of leaving Ukraine. We note that to leave Ukraine for Kazakhstan, citizens can use land routes through Poland or Moldova, followed by commercial flights. When traveling through Poland, Kazakh citizens must have a Schengen visa. A visa is not required to enter Moldova,” the statement reads.
The embassy also urges all citizens not to ignore air raid alarms, immediately head to shelters, take safety precautions, and follow official authorities’ recommendations.
It is worth noting that in August, German authorities warned of potential increased Russian attacks on Ukraine on Independence Day. The U.S. embassy issued a similar warning.
