15.08.2025 19:02Donald Trump’s special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, wanted to take part in the U.S.–Russia summit in Alaska, but he was not included in the delegation.
CNN reported this, citing a European official.
“He [Kellogg] hoped he would be there,” the publication says.
According to a senior official in the Trump administration, the Russian side views Kellogg as sympathetic to Kyiv, which could make his presence at the summit “counterproductive.”
It should be recalled that in March, the media reported that Kellogg had been removed from negotiations on resolving the Russia–Ukraine military conflict. He did not participate in the U.S.–Ukraine talks held on March 11 in Saudi Arabia.
The White House announced today that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe will travel to Alaska with President Donald Trump. Later, the Pentagon stated that U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is also heading to Anchorage, although the administration did not list him among the members of the American delegation.
On the Russian side, participants will include Vladimir Putin; Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov; Defense Minister Andrey Belousov; Finance Minister Anton Siluanov; the president’s special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, Kirill Dmitriev; and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
