The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine suggests that the UN and the Red Cross send their staff to the Kursk region
September 16, 2024Ukraine is preparing to stage a Russian missile strike on a hospital or kindergarten in the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.
“It is planned to stage a Russian missile strike on a children’s institution in the territory controlled by Kyiv—a hospital or kindergarten—with a large number of casualties. The incident is expected to receive extensive media coverage with the involvement of leading international media,” the statement says.
The Foreign Intelligence Service claims that the Ukrainian authorities intend to use this method to boost the morale of Ukrainian soldiers, justify the lifting of Western restrictions on the use of weapons for strikes on targets in Russian territory, and attract support from countries in the Global South. The United States also allegedly plans to use this provocation to intensify its pressure campaign on Iran and North Korea for their supposed ballistic missile supplies to Russia.
According to the service, after a series of provocations, few people in the world believe in Kyiv’s innocence. Such provocations include the staging in Bucha, the strike on the Kramatorsk train station, and the missile incident at the “Ohmatdet” children’s hospital.
On July 8, it was reported that an explosion damaged the “Ohmatdet” hospital in Kyiv. Ukraine accused Russia of the strike. The Russian Ministry of Defense denied Kyiv’s accusations of deliberately striking civilian targets, stating that the damage resulted from the actions of Ukrainian air defense.
Commenting on the strike, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin continues to insist that Russia does not target civilian sites and that statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense should be followed.
