The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine suggests that the UN and the Red Cross send their staff to the Kursk region

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine proposes that the UN and the Red Cross send their staff to the Kursk region to assist in distributing humanitarian aid to local residents.

This is stated in the Ministry’s statement.

“Civilian residents in the Kursk region have been receiving and continue to receive humanitarian assistance. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has appealed to the United Nations to join the humanitarian response measures in the specified area and has sent a corresponding note to the UN,” the statement reads.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called this invitation a “provocation” and urged the UN not to send its representatives.

It should be noted that a day earlier, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation appealed to the President of the Red Cross to organize a humanitarian corridor for the evacuation of civilians from the territory of the Kursk region, which is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
