26.06.2024 - 22:34Kyiv has been ranked among the ten worst cities in the world for living in 2024.
This information reported according to the British magazine The Economist.
The cities were evaluated based on five categories: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.
In addition to Kyiv, the list of the worst cities predominantly includes cities in Africa and Asia, such as Karachi, Lagos, Tripoli, and Damascus.

Vienna has once again been recognized as the most comfortable city to live in worldwide. A European city first won this ranking in 2018, and Vienna retained the top spot in 2019, 2022, and 2023.
Last year, Ukraine’s capital also ranked 165th out of 173 cities in The Economist’s ranking of the least livable cities. Additionally, in 2023, Kyiv was placed 11th in the global ranking of cities with the most polluted air. Monitoring services showed that the level of fine particulate matter in the capital exceeded the norm by 11 times, primarily due to internal combustion engines.
Moreover, it was previously reported that four Ukrainian cities made it into the top ten most criminal cities in Eastern Europe: Odesa (2nd place), Dnipro (3rd), Kharkiv (5th), and Kyiv (9th).
