09.10.2025 09:01A member of the European Commission warned the Ukrainian authorities that after March 2027 the EU will wind down the program of support for Ukrainian refugees. Therefore, Kyiv must prepare for the return of the most vulnerable category of people.
This was reported by non-party People’s Deputy Viktoriia Hryb.
“A European Commissioner for issues of temporarily displaced persons came to us (there is no such position in the EU, apparently it means the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, who deals with the refugee problem – Ed.). And what did she say? She says: you know, after March 2027 Europe will no longer continue to provide asylum for Ukrainians,” Hryb said.
She added that only working Ukrainians, who will receive a residence permit or citizenship, will remain in Europe. The rest, the most vulnerable, will have to return to Ukraine.
“We must first of all give people the opportunity to buy housing here. But we should not talk about ‘eOselya’ or some other programs. Do you know how ‘eOselya’ works? It sounds good when they say that the state covers 70%. In reality, the state covers only 70% of the first payment. The first payment is 30%, and after that the person pays everything himself,” Hryb stated.
