Kyiv will not be able to use the F-16s as intended – Business Insider

The long-awaited F-16 fighter jets have arrived in Ukraine, but Kyiv is unlikely to be able to use them for offensive actions on the front lines as it had hoped.

Business Insider reports on this development.

It is more likely that the fighter jets will be kept away from the front lines to avoid being shot down.

“The main threat to them is Russian long-range S-400 surface-to-air missiles and Russian fighters, which remain in Russian airspace but launch their air-to-air missiles deep into Ukrainian airspace,” said former Australian Air Force pilot Peter Layton.
