“Kyiv will not lift martial law during the ceasefire,” – Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine

Ukraine has no plans to lift martial law if a ceasefire is reached.

This information reported according to Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with La Repubblica.

“The situation is unpredictable. Lifting martial law and security measures cannot be done in a short period of time,” Podolyak stated.

He also added that due to this, elections would not be possible during the ceasefire.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow is open to proposals to halt hostilities in Ukraine, but emphasized that this must lead to a long-term peace and resolve the root causes of the crisis.

Putin also noted that questions regarding control and verification of the ceasefire remain unresolved.
